Parce Que or Car?

Both mean “because”.

Parce que can be used at any time.
Car is not used
*at the beginning of a sentence
* after another conjunction (mais, et, aussi, etc.)

Vous êtes content parce que / car vous avez passé une bonne journée.
Parce que tu es gentil, je vais te donner un bonbon. (beginning of phrase, only parce que is used)
Il m’a dit quelque chose, mais parce que c’est un secret, je ne vais pas le répéter. (following mais so only parce que is used)
